Step 2: Create your design

Once you have your software, it’s time to start creating your design. First step is to open the design in software and select the size of the design. Usually for left chest design maximum size would be 5 inches. For Cap size maximum would be 2.5 inches tall. Next, choose the design elements you want to use, such as shapes, letters, or images. You can use the software’s tools to customize the colors, sizes, and placement of your design elements.

Step 3: Convert your design to a DST file

Once you’re happy with your design, it’s time to convert it to a DST file. To do this, go to the “save as” menu in your software and select DST as the file type. Some software may have specific options for DST files, such as stitch density and pull compensation, so make sure to check and adjust these settings as needed.

Step 4: Check your DST file

Before you send your DST file to the embroidery machine, it’s important to check it for errors. Use your software’s preview function to check that all elements of your design are in the correct place and that there are no overlapping stitches or gaps. It’s also a good idea to do a test stitch-out on a piece of scrap fabric to make sure your design stitches out correctly.

Step 5: Send your DST file to the embroidery machine

Once you’ve confirmed that your DST file is error-free, it’s time to send it to the embroidery machine. You would need to plug the USB Drive into embroidery machine so that it can read the DST file. Make sure that your machine is set up with the correct thread colors and hoop size before starting the stitching process.
